What motivated you to apply for a co-op/internship?
It's a great way to gain connections in industry.
Can you describe your position in a few sentences?
Design and implementation of new technology, organizing personnel, 3D modelling to fabrication.
Did you receive training to perform your engineering duties? Please explain.
On site training on various equipment.
What was your work atmosphere like?
Dynamic and supportive. Small company so very dependent on each other.
What new skills were you able to learn/develop during your co-op/internship?
Interpersonal, management and customer relation skills.
How did your experience compare with your expectations?
I thought my role would have less to do, this position always keeps me busy as there are always so many different things to do. From project development to personnel management.
What was your proudest moment?
Breaking ground on the site of one of the projects I was a part of.
What advice would you offer to students thinking about pursuing co-op or internship?
Find a company that has a role that you're interested in but look at how they treat their employees. It's just as important to ensure that you will succeed in the workplace environment as well as in the role.
