Automotive Systems

The automotive industry includes automotive design, manufacturing, parts supply and servicing. The manufacturing component is particularly important to the Canadian economy and relies heavily on a range of engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, energy, components, software, chemical, materials, and manufacturing). Advances in automotive engineering are key to maintaining or increasing the competitiveness of the automotive industry and consequently Ontario's economy. Some of the faculty research activities in automotive engineering include vehicle dynamics and chassis design for trucks, automotive control systems, and vehicle vibration, isolation and noise control, vehicle emissions, and automotive fuel cells.
