What motivated you to apply for co-op/Internship?
Workplace aligned with my career goals and interests
Can you describe your position in a few sentences?
Assisting in drawing management, dam safety, assets management, project management, and water management duties. I also worked on permitting and safety manual/documentation.
Did you receive training to perform your engineering duties? Please explain.
I had an engineer mentor to assist me a review my work.
What was your work atmosphere like?
Flexible remote and in office hybrid
What new skills were you able to learn/develop during your co-op/internship?
Better presentation skills.
How did your experience compare with your expectations?
My experience at H2O Power was a great step towards becoming the professional engineer I aspire to be and be a leader in the renewable energy sector.
What was your proudest moment?
Travelling to the northern project sites to assist in various tasks.
What advice would you offer to current students thinking about pursuing co-op or internship?
Take any opportunity you get on the job. Try to work and ask advice with as many people to gain the most knowledge from experienced professionals.
