What we do.
At Engineering Outreach, our mission is to enrich the educational journey of K-12 students across the Durham Region and beyond, instilling a deep-rooted passion for STEM. We strive to make STEM education both accessible and inclusive, especially for those from traditionally underrepresented communities. Here’s how we make an impact:
- Accessibility and Inclusion: Ensuring every student has the opportunity to explore STEM, regardless of background.
- Hands-On Learning: Delivering immersive STEM experiences through workshops and activities in schools and community hubs.

Participants will gain the confidence to explore the online world safely while building essential cyber skills.
Spark Club: Girls In Engineering
Wednesdays, November 5, 12, 19
Grades 7 to 10
In this virtual club for girls in grades 7–10, you’ll get to play with circuits, experiment in Tinkercad, and see how electrical engineering shows up in real life. You’ll take on fun challenges that connect to real-world applications, and along the way, you’ll get to hang out with inspiring mentors and other girls who share your curiosity for STEM.
InSTEM Days - Youth Club

Grades 1 to 4 and 5 to 8
Guided by Indigenous students, the Clubs are grounded in Indigenous land-based learning, demonstrating the intersections between Indigenous knowledge, STEM, and engineering design to Indigenous youth.
Game Development with Unity
October - November
Grades 9 to 12
This fall, Ontario Tech’s Engineering Outreach is offering Game Development with Unity, a beginner-friendly workshop where high school students in grades 9 to 12 will learn to design and code their own basic 2D game using Unity, the same professional engine used to build thousands of popular titles.

Robotics Competition

For over a decade, our Robotics Competition has been the go-to event for elementary and high school students seeking an affordable, action-packed, and hands-on robotics challenge. Students will design, build, and program their LEGO® EV3, SPIKE Prime, or NXT robots.
Go ENG Girl Conference

Join us for Go ENG Girl—a free event where girls in grades 7 to 10 can dive into the exciting world of engineering. You’ll get to build, experiment, and explore hands-on projects while learning what makes engineering so awesome.
