What motivated you to apply for co-op/Internship?
Work Experience
Can you describe your position in a few sentences?
Responsible for managing the build status of automated tool and robot cells, and ensuring the customer receives everything on time and as specified. Handling open issues and updating tooling progress sheets.
Did you receive training to perform your engineering duties? Please explain.
I received design training through GD&T, as well as WHMIS, Industry 4.0, etc...
What was your work atmosphere like?
Work was hands on and constantly evolving. The work was team centric and involved a lot of communication between all parties.
What new skills were you able to learn/develop during your co-op/internship?
During my coop, I learned GD&T, Project Budgeting, Project management, AutoCAD, Advanced functions in MS Excel, FANUC Robotics, Controls drawings and xRWDs, and more.
How did your experience compare with your expectations?
The experience exceeded my expectations of the job position. There was so much more to learn about compared to what was initially expected.
What was your proudest moment?
My proudest moment is the number of suggestions I put in to further improve the company.
What advice would you offer to current students thinking about pursuing co-op or internship?
Learn as much as possible. Be proactive, but not overly enthusiastic.
