At Ontario Tech, our students have a unique opportunity to study and learn from outstanding renowned professors in their field of interest, using world-class facilities and laboratories. These men and women will challenge and inspire you to push your boundaries of thinking and learning while broadening your knowledge and understanding in your chosen field. Our professors are award-winning published authors and patent holders, recipients of major awards and grants, and fellows of national and international societies.
For instance, our Dean Dr. Hossam Kishawy is one of ten Canadian Engineering Deans listed on Stanford University’s recently published list of 1965-2019 top 2% in their field, scientists worldwide. Dean Kishawy is also an elected Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC), as well as a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering (CSME). Impressively, Dr. Mark Rosen was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC), the highest distinction an individual can achieve in the Arts, Social Sciences and Sciences. Dr. Rosen is the first professor at Ontario Tech to receive this recognition. Dr. Rosen is also a Fellow of several societies, including EIC, ASME, and CSME, and is the winner of several international and national awards.
In addition, Dr. Igor Pioro, Dr. Atef Mohany and Dr. Scott Nokleby have also been honoured with both CSME and ASME fellowships, and Dr. Remon Pop-Iliev is a fellow of CSME. Further, Dr. Tarlochan Sidhu, Dr. Sheldon Williamson and Dr. Vijay Sood are fellows of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and Dr. Sidhu and Dr. Pioro are also fellows of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC). Moreover, Dr. Edward Waller was recently nominated by the Canadian Radiation Protection Association (CPRA) for the Meritorious Service Award for his overall support and service to the CRPA.
