Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Welcome to the Department of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering at Ontario Tech University.

Our department offers three undergraduate engineering programs: Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Industrial Engineering. Students also have the opportunity to pursue a  Bachelor of Engineering and Management degree. In addition, all degrees offer co-op and internship options. Furthermore, we offer graduate programs in Mechanical Engineering at the PhD, MASc, and MEng levels. Our programs are designed to provide our students with extensive project-based learning experiences and equip them with the skills and practical experience necessary to be successful in their future careers.

We have a diverse community of students with a passion for engineering and access to our state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities, which provide them with a hands-on learning experience and the opportunity to collaborate on cutting-edge projects. We believe that these activities and experiences enrich their academic journey.

We are also fortunate to have a dedicated team of faculty and staff. Our professors are accomplished researchers and dedicated teachers who bring a deep wealth of experience to nurture the intellectual curiosity and growth of our students. Our staff members also work diligently to ensure that our students have access to the resources and state-of-the-art facilities needed to succeed in their academic pursuits.
