Our Elementary Programs are carefully crafted to ignite young minds with a passion for engineering and STEM. Here's what makes our programs stand out:

General Outreach Programs

  • March Break STEM Academy – A Free Engineering Adventure for Grades 4-6! | W2025

    Looking for an exciting way to engage your child during March Break? Sign up for our FREE March Break STEM Academy and let them explore the world of engineering through hands-on activities and real-world problem-solving!

    Over three action-packed days, students will dive into different engineering fields and experience what it truly means to be an engineer:

    Day 1: Civil & Electrical Engineering – Build and test bridges, then explore electric circuits by creating a DIY flashlight.

    Day 2: Software & Mechanical Engineering – Code a maze game in Scratch and build LEGO EV3 robots for a Sumo Battle.

    Day 3: Mechatronics Engineering – Program MBot robots to navigate obstacles and code EV3 robots for the final Sumo Battle.

    By the end of the academy, students will have tackled real-world challenges, worked with exciting tools, and explored multiple engineering disciplines—all while celebrating National Engineering Month!

    This is a one-time free event, giving families the chance to try our programming at no cost. In return for free attendance, we kindly ask parents to complete a short survey to help assess the market value of our programs.

    Print Masters: 3D Printing Club Grades 5 to 8

    Description

    🚀 Exciting News! Try Our New STEM Club Series for FREE! 🚀
    We’re launching our first paid STEM Club series, and as part of our soft launch, we’re inviting families to sign up and try it for free! This is a limited-time opportunity before we introduce fees, so don’t miss out! In return for free attendance, we kindly ask parents to complete a short survey to help us determine the market value of our programs.

    🌟 What’s the club about?

    Do you want to bring your ideas to life with 3D printing? Join our Print Masters: 3D Printing Club and turn your drawings into real, functional objects that can solve everyday problems!

    • Over 3 sessions, you’ll learn how to design your own 3D models using TinkerCAD, an easy-to-use design tool.

    • You’ll start by drawing simple sketches and gradually build them into 3D designs ready for printing.

    • Along the way, you’ll learn how to create shapes, combine objects, and use tools like rotate, mirror, and group to build detailed 3D models.

    • By the end, you’ll tour the university’s high-tech 3D printing lab, and walk away with your own 3D-printed design and the knowledge of how to create more.

    This club is perfect for young creators who love building, designing, and problem-solving!

    Please note: This is an in-person workshop and will take place on the Ontario Tech University Campus.

Girls Programs

  • STEM and Coding Clubs
        • All Girls AM Workshop:  Biola's Balloon Race! Grades 4 to 6

        • REGISTRATION CLOSED, CLICK HERE AND BE FIRST TO HEAR OF OUR NEW PROGRAMS
        • During this workshop, students will explore the world of transportation and engineering! Students will learn various topics, such as understanding the different energy sources involved in automobiles and the forces they encounter. Students will also learn about the various applications of automotive engineering and how to recognize it in their day-to-day lives. At the end of the workshop, students will use the engineering design process to build their own balloon or chemical powered car (using baking soda and vinegar) and put it to the test in a fun race!

    ✨ Girls in STEM Day: Bioengineering & Crime-Solving Adventure! ✨

    Join us for an exciting Girls in STEM Day, where girls in grades 7-8 will dive into two hands-on workshops that combine creativity, problem-solving, and real-world engineering! This full-day event includes a morning and afternoon workshop, with a lunch break in between.

    🔬 Morning Workshop: BioGirls: DIY Prosthetics
    Girls will step into the world of biomedical engineering, discovering how engineers design technologies that improve lives. Through an engaging hands-on activity, they’ll explore how innovation can help the human body!

    🕵️ Afternoon Workshop: STEM Detectives: Solve the Mystery 
    The investigation begins! Participants will become crime-solving scientists, using STEM techniques to analyze clues and crack the case. This interactive workshop will show how science and technology work together to solve real-life mysteries.

  • Go CODE Girl

    Discover the exciting fields of coding, software engineering, and computer science at Go CODE Girl, a free event designed to inspire and empower girls interested in technology! Girls will learn coding basics and test their knowledge through fun, interactive activities led by Ontario Tech Engineering students. Get the chance to learn all about university and see what software engineers and computer scientists do by hearing from current Ontario Tech students, as well as professionals in the industry!

  • Go ENG Girl

    Go ENG Girl is a free event where girls in grades 7 to 10 can dive into the exciting world of engineering! You'll get to build, experiment, and explore hands-on projects while learning what makes engineering so awesome. No need to be a science whiz---just bring your curiosity and creativity! Girls will enjoy hearing from a female engineering guest speaker and meeting like-minded peers!

    Parents are also welcome to attend to enjoy insightful guest speakers and team up with their children to tackle a fun engineering activity in the afternoon!

    Our Black Youth STEM Clubs have been designed to introduce youth to STEM concepts including engineering design, scientific inquiry and the fundamentals of coding. We are committed to ensuring Black youth have a community-oriented and accessible learning environment to explore different facets of STEM, coding, and engineering design. While having Black representation in the classroom, so youth can see themselves in multiple opportunities, our STEM, and Coding clubs deliver content from a broad range of voices and perspectives, celebrating diversity and acknowledging any limitations in representation.

    Our Black Youth Digital Safety Workshops, designed for students in grades 1 to 8, offer a series of virtual sessions that equip participants with essential computer skills, coding knowledge, and practical tools for navigating the online world safely. Tailored to each age group, these workshops introduce foundational digital skills to younger students and progressively build towards more advanced coding and digital safety topics for older participants. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, these workshops empower Black youth to confidently explore STEM opportunities while staying safe in the digital space

    The Black Girls Empowerment STEM Club, a collaborative effort between the Ajax Public Library, the Congress of Black Women of Canada Ajax/Pickering Chapter and Ontario Tech University, is designed to spark interest in STEM among young Black girls through hands-on activities and mentorship from Black female STEM students from Ontario Tech. This initiative aims to educate and inspire, highlighting the real-world impact of STEM fields and the engineering design process while encouraging the growth of digital skills.

Through two interactive workshops in one day, participants will engage in experiments that explore how matter behaves, combines, and transforms, all while being guided by Black STEM instructors.

    Our Black Youth programs are committed to providing a community-oriented and accessible learning environment where students can explore STEM concepts in a meaningful way. With Black representation at the forefront, we ensure that youth can see themselves reflected in science while developing curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a passion for discovery.

    InSTEM Days - Youth Club

    Guided by Indigenous students, the Clubs are grounded in Indigenous land-based learning, demonstrating the intersections between Indigenous knowledge, STEM, and engineering design to Indigenous youth from Grades 1 to 12. We aim to renew students’ pride with their Indigenous identity and increase their confidence in the pursuit of STEM careers and education.

    We are excited to launch this program in-person! We will be hosting interactive programming at Ontario Tech University! Hope to see you there!

These interactive sessions immerse young learners in engineering and coding challenges, sparking their curiosity and enhancing their problem-solving skills. Kids will delve into STEM disciplines, including programming basics, and discover how engineering solves real-world problems. It's a perfect opportunity to inspire a love for science, technology, engineering, and math in a fun, engaging setting.

Our camps offer young learners the chance to explore engineering and technology through hands-on activities and guidance from experienced educators.
