Our Elementary Programs are carefully crafted to ignite young minds with a passion for engineering and STEM. Here's what makes our programs stand out:

General Outreach Programs

  • Summer STEM Academy – A Week of Discovery, Design & Doing

    One Week. Real Skills. Lasting Memories.

    Give your child the chance to create, experiment, and build in a hands-on STEM experience like no other. From electricity and robotics to design challenges and coding, each day is packed with exciting projects that develop creativity, confidence, and real-world problem-solving.
    Students will design, build, wire, and code their way through a week full of engaging challenges - all in a fun, supportive environment with cool take-home items to keep the learning going at home.

    What They'll Do

    • Code and program robots

    • Learn to turn imagination into 3D designs and bring them to life with 3D printing

    • Explore circuits and build working electronics

    • Create fun experiments like lava lamps and more

    • Launch rockets, race bots, and tackle daily challenges

    • Take home the projects they built throughout the week

    Note: This is the same core program as our July STEM Academy, with a few exciting additions. If your child already attended in July, there’s no need to register again.

    Final Day Showcase
    Parents are invited to join us on the final day to celebrate the students’ creativity and see all the amazing things they’ve built and learned.
    This is a perfect opportunity for kids to explore STEM in a hands-on way, make new friends, and take home something they’re proud of.

  • STEM Clubs

    UberBots - A Weekly EV3 Robotics Club

    Transform Your Ideas into Autonomous Delivery Robots!

    Join our UberBots – EV3 Robotics Club and take on the challenge of building and coding autonomous delivery robots! Over four hands-on sessions, students in grades 6–8 will:

    Build & assemble a fully functional EV3 Mindstorms robot designed to make deliveries.

    Code & Program the robot to navigate a city maze and deliver packages autonomously using various sensors.

    Test & Compete in a final challenge where each team’s robot will be put to the test in a live scenario, navigating complex routes and making successful deliveries– all while scoring points for speed and accuracy.

    Score Points & Win Prizes! Teams will receive rewards for their engineering and programming skills, encouraging strategic thinking and problem solving.

    Join us for the Future Mobility Fest, a dynamic drop-in community event tailored for all ages, showcasing the exciting world of mobility and autonomous vehicles. Engage in hands-on workshops, explore interactive booths, and attend insightful presentations by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science (FEAS) at Ontario Tech University. Connect with peers who share your interests, meet inspiring role models and professors from Ontario Tech, and discover the endless possibilities that STEM fields offer.         • Spark curiosity, build confidence, and explore the exciting world of STEM! Our free all-girls STEM and Coding Clubs for grades 1-8 offer hands-on activities, creative challenges, and fun opportunities to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math in a supportive and empowering environment!     ✨ Girls in STEM Day: Bioengineering & Crime-Solving Adventure! ✨

    Join us for an exciting Girls in STEM Day, where girls in grades 7-8 will dive into two hands-on workshops that combine creativity, problem-solving, and real-world engineering! This full-day event includes a morning and afternoon workshop, with a lunch break in between.

    🔬 Morning Workshop: BioGirls: DIY Prosthetics
    Girls will step into the world of biomedical engineering, discovering how engineers design technologies that improve lives. Through an engaging hands-on activity, they’ll explore how innovation can help the human body!

    🕵️ Afternoon Workshop: STEM Detectives: Solve the Mystery 
    The investigation begins! Participants will become crime-solving scientists, using STEM techniques to analyze clues and crack the case. This interactive workshop will show how science and technology work together to solve real-life mysteries.

  • Go CODE Girl

    Discover the exciting fields of coding, software engineering, and computer science at Go CODE Girl, a free event designed to inspire and empower girls interested in technology! Girls will learn coding basics and test their knowledge through fun, interactive activities led by Ontario Tech Engineering students. Get the chance to learn all about university and see what software engineers and computer scientists do by hearing from current Ontario Tech students, as well as professionals in the industry!

  • Go ENG Girl

    Go ENG Girl is a free event where girls in grades 7 to 10 can dive into the exciting world of engineering! You'll get to build, experiment, and explore hands-on projects while learning what makes engineering so awesome. No need to be a science whiz---just bring your curiosity and creativity! Girls will enjoy hearing from a female engineering guest speaker and meeting like-minded peers!

    Black Youth In-Person Stem Club | Grades 1 to 4

    Our Black Youth STEM Clubs have been designed to introduce youth to STEM concepts including engineering design, scientific inquiry and the fundamentals of coding. We are committed to ensuring Black youth have a community-oriented and accessible learning environment to explore different facets of STEM, coding, and engineering design. While having Black representation in the classroom, so youth can see themselves in multiple opportunities, our STEM, and Coding clubs deliver content from a broad range of voices and perspectives, celebrating diversity and acknowledging any limitations in representation.

    The Black Girls Empowerment STEM Club, a collaborative effort between the Ajax Public Library, the Congress of Black Women of Canada Ajax/Pickering Chapter and Ontario Tech University, is designed to spark interest in STEM among young Black girls through hands-on activities and mentorship from Black female STEM students from Ontario Tech. This initiative aims to educate and inspire, highlighting the real-world impact of STEM fields and the engineering design process while encouraging the growth of digital skills.

    Black Girls in STEM Program for grades 6 to 8

    Black Girls in STEM is an empowering program led by Ontario Tech University's Engineering Outreach in collaboration with the Kenyan Women In Canada Association. This initiative is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and foster a sense of belonging among young Black girls through hands-on STEM activities and mentorship from Black university students in STEM fields.

    By highlighting the real-world impact of science, technology, engineering, and math, the program encourages creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. Through inspiring role models and a supportive community, Black Girls in STEM empowers participants to see themselves as future leaders, creators, and changemakers in the world of STEM.

Indigenous Youth Programs

  • Youth Clubs

    InSTEM Days - Youth Club

    Guided by Indigenous students, the Clubs are grounded in Indigenous land-based learning, demonstrating the intersections between Indigenous knowledge, STEM, and engineering design to Indigenous youth from Grades 1 to 12. We aim to renew students’ pride with their Indigenous identity and increase their confidence in the pursuit of STEM careers and education.

    We are excited to launch this program in-person! We will be hosting interactive programming at Ontario Tech University! Hope to see you there!
