STEM Horizons | High School Volunteer Program
The STEM Horizons program is designed to help students gain volunteer hours toward their Ontario Secondary School Diploma while developing leadership and communication skills. Participants will gain hands-on experience supporting Engineering Outreach events and even have the opportunity to create and deliver their own program!
Program Requirements: To successfully complete the program and receive a minimum of 40 hours, students must:
- Complete 5 hours of training
- Complete 20 hours of shadowing
- Complete 10 hours of curriculum preparation
- Complete 5 hours of presenting
Important Notes:
- This program is divided into four parts. If a student does not complete all four, they will not receive their certificate, and will only receive volunteer hours for the time actually spent dedicated to the program.
- This program is ideal for students looking to develop leadership and teaching skills.
- If you need a more flexible volunteer opportunity, consider our General Volunteer Program instead.
