Ontario Tech acknowledges the lands and people of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation.

We are thankful to be welcome on these lands in friendship. The lands we are situated on are covered by the Williams Treaties and are the traditional territory of the Mississaugas, a branch of the greater Anishinaabeg Nation, including Algonquin, Ojibway, Odawa and Pottawatomi. These lands remain home to many Indigenous nations and peoples.

We acknowledge this land out of respect for the Indigenous nations who have cared for Turtle Island, also called North America, from before the arrival of settler peoples until this day. Most importantly, we acknowledge that the history of these lands has been tainted by poor treatment and a lack of friendship with the First Nations who call them home.

This history is something we are all affected by because we are all treaty people in Canada. We all have a shared history to reflect on, and each of us is affected by this history in different ways. Our past defines our present, but if we move forward as friends and allies, then it does not have to define our future.

Library Programs

Ontario Tech Engineering Outreach is committed to bringing programs directly to our community and where young students learn. One of the ways we do this is through our Engineering Outreach Lending Library and Library Workshop program. These programs are offered free of charge with support from the Ajax Public Library, the Oshawa Public Library, and the Clarington Public Library.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all of our programming for the 2020/2021 school year will be running virtually.

A robot for students in grades 1-2. This robot has arrow keys that are pressed and it follows the commands given.
    Kano Computer
Online coding games for students in grades 4-8. This kit comes with a keyboard the connects to the computer allowing students to learn coding through coding games.
    Makey Makey
An interactive electronic set for grades 2-8 that allows people to connect everyday objects to the computer and learn how circuits work.
A coding tool used for grades 6-10. That allows students to code on a online platform and display the code
